New Rates Approved for Eastern Heights Utilities by Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission on February 3, 2025

Eastern Heights Utilities, Inc. (“EHU”) filed a request for approval for an increase in its rates with the Indiana Utilities Regulatory Commission (“IURC”) on June 6, 2024.  The rate case application was fully reviewed by the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor. After its review, the IURC reviewed the rate increase application and on February 3, 2025, issued an order approving an increase in rates.There are 30 not for profit waters utilities, such as EHU, located in Indiana.  With the approved increase, an EHU customer using the minimum 3,000 gallons a month will pay $27.06.  EHU’s rate for 4,000 gallons of monthly usage will be $33.19 – less than a penny a gallon – with that rate ranking as the 11th lowest out of the 30 not for profit utilities, and almost $27.00 a month less than the rate for 4,000 gallons charged by the not for profit utility with the highest rates.Please contact our office at (812)384-8261 or toll free at (800) 439-8718 if you have any questions.We consider it an honor to server you, our customers and appreciate the trust you put in us to continue to provide you with clean, safe water delivered directly to your tap 24 hours a day.

Conditions

The customer shall pay the minimum charge only when the amount resulting from the applying the metered rates to the metered quantity of water is less than the minimum charge.
